A guy named Rick
i-pull-u-pull is having a deal with transmissions and there's a D21 I hope still has a transmission in it. It's an 86, 2wd, regular cab, and my 720 is a 2wd regular as well. Both z24 engines (with the exception of the d21 being throttle body injection which doesn't matter). I can get one for $90 and take my time rebuilding it so the only down time for my truck will be just swapping it over. Are the two the same? I know there's the 31" and 26.5". If both are regular cabs in theory they should be 26.5", idk if the mount holes are the same though. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yours is either 31.5" or 26". The 71C from the D21 is around 30" so you may have to shorten or lengthen your driveshaft. Quote Link to comment
NC85ST
I, personally, would grab the transmission, transmission crossmember and driveshaft, along with all of the associated bolts. The driveshaft should bolt to the rearend in your truck. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
That assumes they are the same length between engine mounts and differential. Both are a two part drive shaft. With luck, the D21 front is the one that matches the transmission length and it may fit your rear shaft. The D21 is a different generation, it's wider and heavier. Quote Link to comment
