zeke5551
Just started planning out my build on our 320NL and realized the driver side window is missing. I thought I had everything. Does anyone have a bad door I can rob the window? Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Is any of the hardware present? I have a local glass guy that can make any flat glass panels, but if the lower strip is missing too, then you may have some searching to do. Quote Link to comment
zeke5551
no lower strip unfortunately 1 Quote Link to comment
NL320-1963
I had an extra, but not sure it made the trip when I moved. I will look tomorrow. 1 Quote Link to comment
NL320-1963
Well I found the glass I was thinking of, turns out it was for a 68-70 Roadster. I know I had two for the NL320 back when I lived in San Diego, but I guess they did not make the trip. Quote Link to comment
zeke5551
Thanks for looking, I'm the same guy trying to put a 2.4 in my 320NL, not scared of a little welding, could you send me picks of your truck with the 2.4? zeke5551@comcast.net thanks Quote Link to comment
NL320-1963
I do not have good pics with the engine in it, but I can take some of the changes to the frame for the motor mounts, and of the mounts I made for it. I will try to get them up here tomorrow. Quote Link to comment
NL320-1963
Moved to correct thread. Quote Link to comment
320 Newb
Is the bottom metal strip the same on NL's and L320s? I know the NL glass is wider but if the metal strip at the bottom is the same it'd be a lot easier to source one from an L320. The getting the glass cut would be easy if you have the other side to use as a template. Quote Link to comment
zeke5551
That's a great thought, the window goes up the same amount so the standard 320 stip should work even if it is shorter, thanks Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
I was thinking the same thing. It's likely another Datsun model would also share that lower strip. There may be a strip of felt squeezed into the channel, along with the glass, and that felt may help seal the glass against the door, but if you were able to see it, you may be able to figure out how to modify it to work. wayno
They are not the same, the slot where the arm goes is slightly shorter although it might work, the slot is offset differently also although one might be able to make it work if the offset does not put the window out of balance. Here is a NL320 window with a L320 window on top of it with the window/bracket connection centered, as you can see the NL320 slot is wasted and that is why I said nothing about having it. 1 Quote Link to comment
