Llittle_Llama
hood sits all jacked up, mine like yours are old and broke. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-620-UTE-Pair-Hood-Rubber-Bumper-Thick-type-or_W0QQitemZ260320294939QQihZ016QQcategoryZ6763QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Quote Link to comment
Skib
cut up some old radiator hose in rectangles and stack to desired heights and then glue them all together :D. i cant really tell how they mount from the pics but if they bolt in or somthing just stick a bolt threw or ect to fit your mounting application. lol i made the rubber portion of my muffler hanger out of old radiator hose :D Quote Link to comment
Llittle_Llama
i might give that a try. the 10 bucks is not all that bad though.... Quote Link to comment
Skib
$10 isnt bad, but you asked for a Ratsun way to fix it remember ;) lol Quote Link to comment
Llittle_Llama
i know, i just wanted to make sure that there was not another car i could grab them from or something. imma try the hose thing today though... Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Get Black Permatex silicone seal and put it on the bump stops and build it up. let dry over night. I assume your hood is shaking? Quote Link to comment
tdaaj
be careful when buying new ones. the rear are different than the front. rears are thinner. they are to keep the hood somewhat centered where as the front are to help keep the height. Quote Link to comment
ppeters914
So, cut 'em down if they're too high; build 'em up with Permatex if they're too low. That's the Ratsun Way! Quote Link to comment
Llittle_Llama
imma try the permex then, i have a few tubes of it. the issue is that one side is lower than the other really. Quote Link to comment
denveratsun
I bought then NEW ones off of EBAY...They are fine. They look really great on the fender top, they keep the hood at a great height and they really werent that much money. HOWEVER.... The comment about there being two different sizes is a good one! I did not know that! My hood shakes at idle like I've got a massive cam in the L16 under the hood:lol: I tell everyone it's a shaker hood (Mopar guys will get it!)! I am going to reevaluate the rear rubber pieces and see if I can cut some off to create a tighter fit. Either way, it is nice when you close it, to have the thing not have to slam so hard. I just close it slowly, and then push a little bit...and it snaps into place! HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! Quote Link to comment
Llittle_Llama
FYI, mustangs also had and have the shaker hood.... anyway, imma order them tomorrow :) Quote Link to comment
