fwo
My neighbor/mechanic and I pulled the fuel tank and did conclude that it is no good anymore. I've had had a tough time, as to be expected, finding any tanks online and am wondering if any of you have any suggestions on aftermarket fuel tanks that would work for my '76? Ideally minimal fabrication required if possible. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
What exactly is wrong with it? Your old tank that is. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
There are two part epoxy mixes that are poured into the tank, then roll around to evenly coat and seal them. They ain't cheap but they work quite well. Way cheaper than a new one..... if they can be found. 1 Quote Link to comment

Crashtd420
If you dont wanna go through all the effort but dont mind paying some money... check out radiator shops or google gas tank cleaning.... I found a local shop to me that cleaned it out, replaced my pickup tube, and sealed the inside.... I opted not to have then paint the exterior ... I think I paid around 250 - 300 to have that done.... 2 things definitely make sure your pick up tube is good.... they do get clogged with rust.... Also with those diy epoxys and tank coating kits the biggest thing you need to do is follow the prep work they say.... If the prep work is not good the product can and will peel off the inside.... 1 Quote Link to comment
