I was wondering if anyone knew of any engine swap that would be able to boost the power in the truck while using the same 5 speed manual transmission. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted October 9, 2019 Report Share Posted October 9, 2019 The later '83-'86 Z24. More torque. This would be the closest to a true 'drop in' swap. The later KA24E or KA24DE will bolt to the Z series transmission but it's an EFI engine with all the electronics to connect, engine mounts, high pressure fuel pump. 2 Quote Link to comment

Power is great but stock b series trans will not hold up. Got good mechanical/ wiring skills a shop and tools and $2-3k? If not keep rolling the 2.2. 2 Quote Link to comment
