Tsnider
Mistakes are the best and worst way to learn. It teaches you to not do that again but at a cost. 1 Quote Link to comment

It's just like the one my parents had when I was a kid. Same color plus diesel and everything! I used to be small enough to ride in the king cab jump seats with my little sister across from me on the other one. 😂 The truck looks really good! Awesome pics of original paperwork, too. Thanks for sharing. 1 Quote Link to comment
TimmyG
Worth mentioning that my 1984 factory service manual shows that the SD25 was in production for 1984 model 720s. Just got this book today. Pretty cool. Edited August 30, 2019 by TimmyG 1 Quote Link to comment
Tsnider
That’s cool Timmy. I can’t imagine riding in the jump seats now, as a kid maybe not so bad. I have more of the original paperwork with it also. 2 Quote Link to comment

My mom used to mash down the throttle as we approached the old, out of service railroad crossing near our house! It was essentially pitched up like a ramp on both sides...so she sort of ramped it for fun with us 2 kids in the truck. 🤣 I have no idea how fast we were going, but I do remember hitting my head on the roof as I lifted out of my seat, and the feeling of your stomach dropping suddenly... which of course was awesome as a kid. Hahaha. To this day she says "I can't believe I used to do that with y'all in the truck." No kids or trucks were harmed in the making of this true story. 😎 I'd be interested to see any original Datsun paperwork if you get time to post it. Edit- Forgot to mention my screen name might imply that "little" Timmy could still fit on those jump seats, but I am in fact now 6'1 and 260 lbs...🤣🤣🤣 Edited August 31, 2019 by TimmyG 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The SD22 was available on the 720 from October '80 or about 4 months into the '81 model year. The SD25 was available from November '82 or about 5 months into the '83 model year. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Tsnider
That’s a good story Timmy, those will always be good memories and one reason you like these trucks now. Thanks for the info Mike, I’m just starting to learn about these trucks. 2 Quote Link to comment
