sycloned916 Posted November 15, 2008 Report Share Posted November 15, 2008 I'm doing the same swap L16w/5speed in my 1967 520.I'll be doing the swap in afew weeks here,kinda knew i was going to have to do some welding,the J13 mounts look different from what i have,the position of the L series mounts,but a welder and a cut-off saw should fix that. Datsunny Posted November 15, 2008 Author Report Share Posted November 15, 2008 ok well we took the old motor mounts out and got ones out of the donor truck the ones on the j motor mount facing the front and the L mounts face the outside sides i am going to bolt up the stock 4 speed to the L motor for the sake of having a bench seat but i am changing out 4 gear to make it longer so it can travel on the freeway Quote Link to comment

Cuts metal like mad Posted November 16, 2008 Report Share Posted November 16, 2008 On the 520 and j13 521, there is a "box" that the radiator bolts to(it's spot welded on) if you remove it, you can bolt the L16 radiator right in, the holes are already there! One thing that seems strange to me though is how HUGE the steering idler box is, it's not just an arm like L powered trucks it's a big box... Quote Link to comment
