agouge888
Another odd thing I keep noticing is that the fuel level bowl keeps going down sometimes. I have been reving the engine high, then quickly cover the top of the carb with my hand to create a vacuum to hopefully pull any obstructions loose. When I do that....the fuel in the sight glass bubblesand sloshes like a washing machine and I’ve noticed that it sometimes drains the bowl completely. Each day after running it...I make sure the bowl is full of fuel/ float level, but the next day...the fuel bowl is empty, so therefore I have to prime it with starter fluid about 8 times before it’ll get fuel back into the bowl. When I got the truck...the guy had put a new fuel pump on it. I ended up putting a new one on a few. Weeks ago to knock it off my list. It seems like it took a long time then to get fuel up to the carb. One up there it seems fine and maintains a normal level, except when I do the above, or let it sit a day or so. Any ideas? Thanks for your patience guys. Andy Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
needle valve on carb is acting up If stocl fuelpump then its the carb. If elelctric pump was put on then it could be a fuelpressure issue as carbs want like 2-3 pounds . if over pressure that may cause needle valve to wear. But to me if stock carb ? they are getting worn out by 40years Quote Link to comment
