David lo pan 2
so did the swap. numbered out the neutral switch. starts fine. but when I hook up the the red/black wires to reverse switch nothing happens. does not start and the reverse lights don't come on either. I checked continuity on the switch, checked bulbs all are good. weird thing is after I disconnect the red/black reverse wires and wait awhile the car starts again without the red/black. also blue/black wires? can figure out where they go to. oh 1973 610 sedan. thanks guys 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Traditionally Red/Black wires are the reverse lights switch. Polarity is not important. On a 71B transmission, connect switch, located just behind the clutch arm dust boot, to the harness. The Neutral Park safety switch, just join the other two wires together and the ignition is the switch. The automatic has a separate switch to open and prevent the ignition from starting in any position other than Park or neutral. On a 710 the two wires are Green and Black/Green... don't know what thew 610 would be. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Was here at 11:48 and may have added it after Mike's 11:42 post. I assumed it was a 610 because of the fuse box cover... Quote Link to comment
