datzenmike
You will be looking for a short tail 3N71B like this http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q251/datzenmike/trans3N71BLseriesshort72510.jpg[/img]"] What color is the fluid? If anything but bright red.... get a new one to replace it. Quote Link to comment
ariascarlos1990
I have a 3 speed from a 620. Don't know if it will work but I got one. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If the 620 tranny is from a '74 or newer it will be too long. The '72.5 and '73 will fit perfectly. I think there was an auto option back then. Quote Link to comment
dat521gatherer
there is a 620 auto at pull-a-part in parkland/tacoma but i dont know the year. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
there is a 620 auto at pull-a-part in parkland/tacoma but i dont know the year. The 26.3" long auto from any PL510 car, early 620, '77-'79 200sx, '78-'79 HLA10 should work. Quote Link to comment
scooter
hmmmm... my 73 620 has a 31.5 inch auto tranny.... Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Is it possible it's a '74 model made in late '73? Check the build date on the door tag. If it still has the original hood and there is an emissions sticker it would list the model year. I think it's possible to have a '74 but the ownership says '73 because that was the year bought. I think this was the way it was registered sometimes back then. I could be wrong but it's different now. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
The 620 Automatics are all long, irregardless of year. Quote Link to comment
qwik510
I think you may want to consider the auto I just pulled from my 2 door. Up for sale is a very nice, fully functioning automatic transmission setup that was just pulled from my sweet stock 1970 Datsun 510 2 door. It only has 118K miles on it. I drove this car for 3 years and this trans always shifted fine and had no leaks. When it was pulled (11-01-08) the fluid was bright red and there was no burnt smell. This trans comes with the carefully disassembled hard lines and the flexplate, cover plate, crossmember and mount and all the hardware. This is ready to bolt up to your L series motor and drive. $200 or best reasonable offer. I would prefer local pickup but I am willing to crate it for you and ship it at your expense. May be willing to trade for NOS 510 parts. I also have the radiator pulled from the same car. Excellent condition with no leaks. $60 See the full thread here: http://the510realm.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=10675&sid=301e4e1bd4841a16000485971a8c62c5 Quote Link to comment
