TheGam1ngK1ng
I am currently rebuilding my 78 Datsun B210 A14. So I ran into a pickle. I have no idea where this oil ring or this O-ring goes. I found this image But I have no clue where it goes or if it even applies to my A14 I am just double checking before I put my head gasket and head on. Thanks guys! Quote Link to comment
Roadster-ka
Small one goes between cylinders 2&3, in block. Seals oil passage bringing oil to rocker arms. Large oring seals distributor base. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Lay your head gasket on block. It should be obvious where that little brass one goes. I like that purple. Quote Link to comment
TheGam1ngK1ng
I love the purple too I'm assuming it sits under the head gasket like this correct? Sorry for the noobness Scratch all that. I found out that the earlier heads and blocks had an oil port (1967-1973). Mine doesn't Derp :poke: Quote Link to comment
Morrisun
I am going to guess- the distributor, just below the mounting/adjustment plate, on the shaft. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
If i rebuild an engine it gets painted purple. Every time. Its my signature to myself that I'm running an engine i built. 1 Quote Link to comment
KELMO
Agree with Morrisun on the O ring. The smaller one with the orange on it I think goes in an oil passage between block and head like the illustration you posted.....maybe between #2 and #3 pistons in one of those innermost holes. I cannot remember for sure as I have not had an A motor apart in several years, and in the back of my head I am wondering if I used it at all. Quote Link to comment
TheGam1ngK1ng
Purple is the only way to go imo Quote Link to comment
TheGam1ngK1ng
Im am pretty sure I don't need the orange copper one. Doing a little bit more research on the interwebs, I found out that 1967-1973 blocks and heads have an oil passage. Mine doesn't. Whoops :poke: On the other hand, The O-ring fits perfectly in the distributor hole. Thank you guys! Quote Link to comment
