dscottdatsun
What is the most efficient way to remove powder coating? My engine mounts are scratched and chipped from a previous install and need refinishing. Quote Link to comment

dscottdatsun
I tried glass beads but wasn't getting far. It mostly hazed the finish where it wasn't chipped away Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Paint stripper like you can buy at the hardware store.. I seen some Ebay parts get stripped with Permatex spray-on gasket remover even.. Quote Link to comment
Rjawm
http://www.amazon.com/GAR343-KLEAN-STRIP-Aircraft-Stripper-Gallon/dp/B004Y1KX9E Probably way easier to get it locally at an auto paint supply, but the Amazon link was the easiest way to get all the info on it in the post. Once applied the stripper will be left on until it causes the coating to lift, then it get scraped off, and when done rinse thoroughly to get all the stripper off before refinishing. May take more than one application. Only other way I've had it done is full sand blasting. Quote Link to comment
