Looks like a common 510/521 set up with a bypass outlet.  Some had these some didn't.

 

the hard part is how you plug the metal line????????

 

 

I assume you cked the wire for power with the key ON?????

 

 

rockauto has a Airtex wells brand that looks like the one you need unless you got this one already just has a bullet end instead of a lug nut

 

 

just have someone send you theres with the sender already in and get a gasket that goes to the head and be done with this

yeah the airtex is the one I got and it did not work.  Should I just post in a parts wanted section and see if someone has a therm housing laying around?  It was a while ago that I messed with it but yes I believe I determined the sending unit was the problem.  When I ground the wire the gauge would move.  Just wont do anything when attached to sending unit.
