A hacksaw and a metric die?

A 280ZX from 82-83 ish, non-turbo would have a shorter shifter than the 720 and would fit. The transmissions are the same model though oriented differently due to the engine tilt. That's what I have in my '76, since the '82-ish transmission I have used a different shifter than the original '76 4-speed.

The '82-83 200sx tranny with the Z22E motor should work too but has more of a wide ratio gear set compared to the '80-'81 tranny. BTW I'm running an '80 200sx 5spd behind my Z24 and it has a much shorter shifter than the stock truck one. Because it has a 4" body lift I'll be swapping a 720 shifter onto it. It has a Pathfinder knob on it, looks and feels good, just too short.

An L head on a NAPS block will tilt the intake 12 degrees towards the driver's side. Keep that in mind when mounting carbs.
