Eriks
Can anyone make or supply one? Appreciate all advice, thanks. Quote Link to comment
tr8er
Take yours in and have it re-tubed. My build has the specifics. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/45295-ruby-510-wagon-l20b-5-speed-driver-build/ (Carter landed a very helpful picture on page one. Print it and take it to a drive shaft shop. They will need to re-tube with smaller shaft.) Might be better to keep yours and have them build one from scratch. Mine needed a new yoke on one end, so all that remains from the original is one yoke. And I didn't save any money destroying my wagon shaft. I followed Carters picture to a tee and came up a bit short as seen below. And I took a pic of my yokes after I turned them down to spec for the drive-line shop. Believe it or not, if you are careful with your tooling, a precision fit will not need to be welded! Heat and press fit is enough. That's what they tell me, I got mine welded. 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Can anyone make or supply one? Appreciate all advice, thanks. Depends on the 5 speed. If a 71B 5 speed just use a sedan driveshaft. If 71C then measure from end of trans to diff flange and let the shop work it out. Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Welcome to Ratsun tr8er! We'll get you sorted. Regarding driveshafts: here are four with some specs: top : sedan shortened for z 5spd - 37 3/8" between yoke centers (~5 3/16 shorter than stock) next : sedan stock - 42 9/16" between yoke centers next : wagon shortened (and re-tubed) for z 5spd - 43 11/16" between yoke centers (5 3/16" shorter than stock) bottom : wagon stock. - 48 7/8" between yoke centers. Note larger diameter than sedan It's a bit of a stretch to use a stock sedan driveline on a wagon with a long tail 5spd. --carter Take yours in and have it re-tubed. When someone asks driveline questions , that post/build thread is what i post to explain.  1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
There are lots of goons with sedan driveshaftes used. It's just an option that does work The spline is plenty long enough even though about 1 1/8" short. Just saying I have had several people say they have and are still using theirs Quote Link to comment
Eriks
Thanks everybody. The 5 speed i have is a dogleg from 610 sss, which I read must be A-series something. Just wondering, what is "yoke center"? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The 610SSS does come with a dogleg 5 speed and I believe it's 31.5" long same as the 71B 5speeds. Just measure it. The 610SSS had L18 with dual SU carbs so it will mount to any size L series engine.. Quote Link to comment
