No, the B-58 was the chase plane during the testing phase of the program and it flew next to the XB-70 on almost every flight, especially on high speed runs. Profile Posted December 10, 2017 Report Share Posted December 10, 2017 Looks like a fairly new B-36 as the tail end has not began to turn black from the oil leaks of those six 4360 engines. That tail end oil was almost impossible to remove. I spent 4 years working and flying on them. Long time ago. 3 Quote Link to comment
