Duncan
Do the FRONT doors on a 510 sedan and a wagon interchange? I have heard it both ways numerous times. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I believe they do, ish. The wagon window frame is a tad taller. Quote Link to comment
Duncan
I believe they do, ish. The wagon window frame is a tad taller. If that's the case, then I will take that as a no. I recall this from a long time ago, but I wasn't sure what the difference was. Quote Link to comment
DatWifey
We ran a wagon door on our sedan for years while it was my daily driver. The ONLY issue that we had with it functionally wise was when we tried to put roofracks on it, the wagon door was a hair too tall and the door wouldn't clear the piece that clipped below the gutter. So, if you're not trying to use any roof racks, a wagon door will work just fine. Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
Carter posted a pic a while ago showing exactly how much taller the wagon door is. Just a fraction of an inch. They will swap if your desperate or just don't care but on a nice car or show car it would stand out. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I checked earlier and the front sedan and goon door part numbers are quite different. This is not enough to definitively say it won't work only that there is some difference. Quote Link to comment
Duncan
Thanks everyone. Seems silly they (Nissan) would do that. I'm doing a fairly extensive resto on my wagon, so I want to use the proper door. If anyone has a front left side wagon door they want to part with, lemme know :) Quote Link to comment
Duncan
Just to put a bow on this thread, I was able to find 4 original paint wagon doors and picked them up last weekend. 2 Quote Link to comment
510venture
Good for you, that's excellent. I had to replace the driver side rear door on my car when I bought it. Had to find one on eBay. Shipping was more than the door itself. I sure would have loved to have been able to drive and pick one up. Quote Link to comment
Duncan
I hear ya. I bought a new set of weatherstrips, and they were close to the price I paid for the doors. Quote Link to comment
510venture
Weathstrips, another needed item on the list. Where'd you end up getting them, if you don't mind me asking? Quote Link to comment
Duncan
The first set I bought from Datsunlandsocal. I was buying some stuff from Datsport in Australia, so I ordered the second set from them. Nothing wrong with the first set, but since I was paying for shipping on a few things, the rubber was a bit cheaper including it with that order. I haven't even looked at it yet to see if it's a little different from the ones I bought here.. . Weathstrips, another needed item on the list. Where'd you end up getting them, if you don't mind me asking? Quote Link to comment
