Bama720
I have a 85 Nissan 720 with the z24 carbed motor 4x4. I'm wantin more power without a lot of problems. I've been thinking of a 350 swap but a lot of cutting would have to be done. So I was thinking of the jeep 4.0 inline 6 motor, trans and maybe even axles. Has anyone done this before or have done and have any info on stuff that'll need to be done? Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
Google will help you find most swaps. Almost everyone swaps a KA motor which is probably less power than your going for. A few people have done 350s with minimal cutting. Im thinking an inline 6 would require more modifications than the 350 since they are so long in an otherwise small bay. Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
350 swap shouldn't require any cutting. And it keeps it all Nissan. 305 HP. Quote Link to comment
Bama720
I've seen a few with 350 in them but none that are 4x4. So I don't know if I'm getting into more than I can chew or not. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
350 has an awesome engine. You'll be glad you used it. V6 is the way to go. The 6-speed is too long for a 720 4x4. But you can use a hybrid 720 5-speed to match the V6. Quote Link to comment
dr.feltersnatch
i thought he meant chevy 350 1 Quote Link to comment
Bama720
Thought a 350 was v-8? And what do you mean a 6 speed? I was talking bout keepin it carbed with a Holley 4bbl. I just want more power for off-roading really. I know I'll have to swap trans and drive shafts and prolly diffs too cause the torque and power of the 350 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The Nissan 350 uses a V6. Which 350 were you thinking of? Chevrolet? Buick 350? Pontiac? Oldsmobile 350? Quote Link to comment
Bama720
Chevy 350 Quote Link to comment
Ezra
I really like that nissan 350. I want one LOL. my 76 620 would go nice with that Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
The 4.0 would require more cutting than a Chevy V-8, and weighs more to boot. The 4.0L I-6 weighs over 100lbs more than an LS1, twice that of the original engine. Quote Link to comment
