A lot.  This ain't your grandfathers V8.

I do not have a 510.  I have a 521, with a 4.375 rear axle ratio.  Basically stock, but with a 2" (OD) sized exhaust system.  Stock Hitachi  Carb.   60 MPH, around 4,000.

Do not even think of getting any useful power below 2,000.  Sure, the engine idles about 750, but below 2000 with almost any throttle opening, you are lugging the engine.  It is happier at least at 2500, and somewhere around there, or slightly higher, there is enough demand from the engine for the secondary to open.

There is a "yellow zone" from 6,500, to 7,000, and 7,000 is a safe redline.

Thanks, My speedo cable is out and I haven't driven my car in a long time. Still getting used to the feel.
