NW510
This is my first post on this forum, ive searched amd searched and found nothing. Ive got a 69 510 sedan and im lookimg at swapping a beams black top into her. I dont want the same sr, ca or ka swap everyone does (not that there not badass ). Im sure the cross memeber will need to be flipped but have any of you heard/done this swap? Or any toyota s series engines?? Thanks in advanced. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I had to look this motor up, not being very familiar with Toyota motors. Lots of power. Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
I have seen one 510 with that motor but I no longer know how to get a hold of him last I new the car was in seattle some where and that was 10 years a go Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Ya cuz CAs are soooo common... Quote Link to comment
NW510
True not oike an sr or vg or something, I love turbos but want to want to keep it na (have two boosted/stroked air cooled bugs). All titanium valves, dual vvti. Killer motors just never seen one in a dime. And love the fact they come with a factory six speed. Ya cuz CAs are soooo common... And yes tons of power for a n/a 2 litre. Believe it or not they make more power with itb over factory efi. I had to look this motor up, not being very familiar with Toyota motors. Lots of power. flatcat19
Damn near any motor will make more power with ITBs over factory induction. That's basic theory. Quote Link to comment
INDY510
this 3sge swap is almost done: http://the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24424&start=60 Quote Link to comment
NW510
And most fuelies don't make more power itb because you lose a little tuning capabilitie. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Suck. Squish. Bang. Blow. An increase in any equals power. Quote Link to comment
NW510
Huh? If your saying what i i think your saying you couldnt be more wrong..... Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Actually he's right Freer flowing intake = more power More compression = more power Better combustion = more power Freer flowing exhaust = more power Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
And most fuelies don't make more power itb because you lose a little tuning capabilitie. Most fuel injected motors don't make more power than what? They can still be tuned. Even a well tuned factory motor can be improved on. Quote Link to comment
NW510
Dont make more power itb, itb s dont raise compression at all on a beams there already 11 5 1. Take a ka for example its gonna make more power with some 1000cc top feeds over itb. Or even 500cc injectors. All i im sayin is that my beams will love itbs over some megainjectors UNLIKE MOST MOTORS. Just like a 2j likes singles over twins when in theory it should make more power twins. NW510
Suck. Squish. Bang. Blow. An increase in any equals power. I thiught you ment just throw abunch of fuel at her. But yeah an increase in flow of an engine in anyway can increase power if done right. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Induction. Air and fuel. Increase air, you need to increase fuel to satisfy stoich. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
You are right, just swapping one part (eg intake manifold, or just the injectors) usually doesn't make more power. On the other hand ITBs will make more power than non-ITB stock manifolds on most engines if done correctly sized correctly with accompanying changes. But there are a lot of high dollar-modded engines out there not done right. Quote Link to comment
