ggzilla
If you have an L16 engine, use an L16 starter. Don't use a 520 starter, as they don't fit an L16 engine. Quote Link to comment
wayno
A L20b starter will work on any L block(L16,L18,L20b), so your fine with the L20b starter. The 520 series trucks came with J13 engines, all of them imported to the USA that is, if you have an L16 in your truck, it was converted to the L series engine. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
1972 & 1973 620s came with L16 engines. Any starter for any L-series engine should work. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Is your distributor on the driver's side front? or on passenger side? J13 engines were used through '69 and L16s used '70 on up. Four or six cylinder starters will work on the L16. I have one from a Maxima on my L20B. Quote Link to comment

old skool too cool
So I changed my starter. Still at the same spot. Click but no crank. Changed battery terminals and fully charged battery. Alternator maybe? Quote Link to comment
old skool too cool
Was able to manually crank with a conductor from the starter and give it gas but still would only crank. Quote Link to comment
