Z-train
Is there a known issue with 85 720 speedo's?The truck my fried pick-up had the needle ffall off and a bone yard unit from a 93K truck was "stuck".Meaning the needle would stay where you moved it to. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes. Use a 1986 speedometer from a low-mileage truck. Quote Link to comment
millican
There's a bone yard here with Datsun pickups? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
http://www.car-part.com lists a half dozen, if Ace don't have one. Quote Link to comment
Z-train
The yard on Park st has a 86 truck. Quote Link to comment
Z-train
Yes. Use a 1986 speedometer from a low-mileage truck. Just picked up a 86 cluster. Is this a plug & play or does the head unit itself need to be swapped? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The complete cluster can be swapped. Or you can keep yours and just swap the speedo. I sent one to California once to trade for a 4x4 oil pressure gauge that reads PSI. Some clusters have the optional clock and tach in them. Quote Link to comment
Z-train
Cool.Just realized this is a 4X4 dash.THe wire/plug hanging out of the back is the 4X4 light....right?No such luck with the tach &gauges. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You can add them later if you find them. The ST model will likely have full gauges. If you find a tach you need to get the 2.2K ohm resister that goes in line with it. The two wires on a plug hanging out the back is for the clock. The tach is part of the 10 pin connector and is already wired in (just need the resister) Quote Link to comment
Z-train
This is a plain jane dash.No guage except temp. But it has a "plug tail" hanging out the bottom Quote Link to comment
