dirty-mik3
from what i have head so far, an r200 diff is an r200 diff, and most rwd internals are interchangeable, so whats keeping people from using 240sx lsd's in their 280z's and r200 swapped s30's? most of what i read is about subaru lsd's, and z31 lsd's, which are both ridiculously expensive. an open 240sx diff can be had for 30 dollars, and an lsd for under 200 if you're in the right group of people.I know it's something obvious, but i'm drawing a blank.... :hmm: Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Z-car enthusiasts generally buy new, not a $200 used LSD. 1 Quote Link to comment

DISLEXICDIME
There are instructions on line how to swap a shortnose lsd in to a long nose r200 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The LSD is removable from the R200 assembly. It came stock on 240SX with the performance package. Quote Link to comment
dirty-mik3
sorry, im not too clear on the subject and hybridz is unreachable at the moment. Is the only major difference between say; This lsd and a factory 280z r200 differential the spline count? why would shimming it be an issue, I would imagine it would be just like shimming every other rear end? If I could just slap one into my housing I would be happy as a clam, but I know if it was that simple that's what everyone would be doing...Although it does say this fits a z31, which is what I keep reading that you want if you plan to swap one into your stock housing... datzenmike
With some work the C200 truck LSD can be swapped into an R200 housing Quote Link to comment
drummingpariah
Try this out: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/116714-kaaz-2-way-lsd-short-nose-r200-center-into-long-nose/ HBZ search works, but all the Google indexes are now broken. Quote Link to comment
