DatMo
Auto zone orileys napa Just about every auto parts storeI heard that 3 inch lowering blocks cause a lot of problems for people. Is that true? I saw dawa run into a problem. And hopefully 79`s have a torsion and i can lower the truck for $50!! Quote Link to comment
mikeanike99
My brother(jastrunk97) has no problems with his non angled 3in blocks so I'm not sure wether are not they need to be angled or not Quote Link to comment
BlackBird620
Got 5inche blocks on my reg cab only problem is frame clearance Quote Link to comment
jastrunk97
3" blocks are fine. If you had any problems (which you wont) then you can just shim your carrier bearing, easy fix. Quote Link to comment
red76datsun
just run angled blocks. or get shims for the blocks. itll straighten up the drive shaft so your carrier bearing is under much pressure from the shaft and cause it to wear out. you wont have any problems. also cut down your bumpstops front and rear Quote Link to comment
mikeanike99
I had blocks....now I have lift;P Quote Link to comment
DatMo
So the truck was rear ended around a week or so ago butsince, I have banged the majority of the dents out and it looks half decent. It also broke down but I replaced a lot of lines, painted some parts and cleaned up a lot. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. Looks like I'll be picking up some 3inch blocks from oreileys next weekend then! I do have one thing though. The torsion bars, I did't find much info but form a few threads i read, it's literally that to lower the car. like nothing is bought? few things. What rims are these because I want some zg flares and these look like they'd be wide enough to fit the stance. and what lips are these? really wanting a lip for the 620. Also some updates. Painted my bed with black bed line, came out really nice. wrapped my steering column bezel or plastic in black vinyl. Planning to put my dash cap on soon, trying to make a shift knob out of a bike handle bar new steering wheel and nrg short hub should be coming this week. The truck has a sound like the exhaust is rumbling around so I'll get that fixed asap. a rumbling like hitting shit, not the nice beefy actual exhaust sound. I'm really excited for the exterior of this car since it's my daily. It will be spray canned but I will put a ton of effort of wet sanding to make this thing nice. please tell me what those damn lips are. lol Quote Link to comment
mikeanike99
I have a set of rims for sale And that might be an mk1 lip but I'm not sure And the rims you pictured are steel 8 spoke rims Quote Link to comment

mikeanike99
Yeah I have 15 by 9.5 Chevy rally's they look sweet! The rims that I have for sale are 15 by 8 and have a decent offset, but the hubcaps make it so you can't see that. Quote Link to comment

DatMo
The car looks a ton different. happy with how this thing is coming out. must worn, pretty ratty. this sunday, it will be lowered. sadly, the wheels are gonna be hiding inside the fenders... I need some spacers because i really like the rims I got. but i don't think they could every reach flush. maybe with some thing spacers so they clear and then putting them on backwards? lol. btw, posting a before and after pic soon. DatMo
I lowered the back and truck went well but then i felt a vacuum leak... Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Huh? And as far as the torsion bars goes... Read the READ THIS FIRST thread pinned in the general subforum. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
I don't get what you are trying to say. Try longer sentences. As far ad lowering the back, there are no vacuum lines there. The two things are unrelated, a coincidence. I lowered the back and truck went well but then i felt a vacuum leak... Quote Link to comment
DatMo
So I had posted on my phone and it came out sounding like an idiot LOL. Partly my fault for not knowing how to work my phone so well. anyways. I meant to say I lowered the back with 3 inch lowering blocks. that went well. Then I was test driving and the car felt like it had a vacuum leak so I replaced the lines. I also pressure washed my engine bay and painted my air filter for the hell of it. Everything runs smoothly. I also lowered the front painted my hood block, plasti dipped the grill and changed the lights up. I'm waiting on my new steering wheel which is a one off drift wood wheel that no one else has yet (Proud to be the first), and my front lip. By spring break, I will have enough extra money to paint the car and I'm going with a mint green. It will be a spray paint job but I promise that I will sand every bit of this bitch down. lol. I also painted my bed with rustoleum bed liner. Came out well. a few drips but I don't care much for the bed since I'll actually be using it. I painted my rims gold to match the blue for now. I'm looking for other rims or might find some spacers and run these. not sure yet. some before and after pics. Still got more plans to come. 1 Quote Link to comment
DatMo
really need to find a 620 steering wheel hub. The more i drive the truck, i feel like it gets really shitty mileage... Quote Link to comment
