dat77sun
4.3 swap started today!!! 4,3, harness, trans, tcase pulled outta 1 720, z22 trans, tcase outta mine, and interior mostly stripped. tore my harness apart and took out everything i dont need, motor mounts cut off. HUGE thanks to kevin Sheats, helped me strip my truck for a couple hours, he got the trans, flatcat19 got the engine, still Alot left to do but got a good chunk done today, hoping to have it in and running tomorrow!!! 1 Quote Link to comment
SandyMush620
Good progress. Pulling it out of another 720 has to be an advantage from an engineering perspective. Quote Link to comment
dat77sun
definetally is a advantage! and freinds who have done the swap before and know more about this stuff than i do! updates for today! halfway got my body lift installed on the cab, finished cleaning up the factory wiring, modified oil pan, and trimmed up the motor mounts 3 Quote Link to comment
Jim_Rockford
Next time you change oil mark your dipstick with a scribe after the leak check. 5 qts-good to go. do this AFTER you start the engine and fill up the oil filter. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
do this AFTER you start the engine and fill up the oil filter. Yes. But now he has a different motor with the correct dipstick. So no worries anymore. 1 Quote Link to comment
dat77sun
wrong flatcat, it does have correct dipstick but i had to shorten the pan and sump so ill have to scribe it again 1 Quote Link to comment
