DanielC
From King Rat: Ask for any Datsun car '78 and up. All had the internal regulated alternator. 78-'79 200sx (S10) '78-'81 HL510 (A10) '78-'78 280z '79-'83 280zx '78-'84 810/Maxima '80-'83 200sx (S110) '78-210 If any of you have a Datsun, just go and copy this list, and store it somewhere you remember. jaredperry
Alternator failed the test at vato zone. I picked up the first option (s10), so hopefully this fixes the problem. Quote Link to comment
jaredperry
I would like to give a big thanks for those that helped me out with my alternator and wiring problems. The alternator was upgraded due to being faulty and was converted to internally regulated. Runs, lights up and drives great! Now onto the rest of the car! Quote Link to comment
DanielC
That is one way to fix a buzzing voltage regulator, get rid of it! 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yup. Both my 710 were external and nothing wrong with them. But I converted to KA 90 amp and an Altima 100 amp altenator. Way, way better lights, heater fan and wiper opperation. The fact they are internally regulated helpes too. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
plug this in the cig lighter. That Vato zone isnt going to last too long. Have a spare ready. this will show its not chrging way before it dies http://www.equus.com/Product/3721/Battery-Monitor Quote Link to comment
MarkB.
I don't know if this helps, but I got a plug-n-play voltage regulator bypass from Datsun Parts LLC when my old voltage regulator caught fire (that was kinda exciting). Its just a little plastic connector with the necessary wiring inside. I added a 65 amp, internally regulated alternator from a early 80's Z. Works great so far, about 500 miles since installation. I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures. . . . Quote Link to comment
