Zeusimo
So A While Back I Had Dual Points Dizzy The Timing Would Always Jump Up And Down 2-3 Degrees So I Switched To Reluctor Style EI Dizzy I Set Base Timing To 10BTDC At 800RPM Off Idle Timing Drops 5-10 Degrees Before It Starts Climbing From A Stop Sign It Feels Like My Accel Pump Is Bad One Of My Friends Was Saying That The Weights Could Cause This I Did Take It Apart To Clean Everything And Regrease Could The Weights Be Put In Backwards By Accident? Or Do I Need A New Dizzy..? Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Ah... remote igniter. Only in California. Check your base timing and then pull the vacuum advance hose off. See what happens. Quote Link to comment

PL5DIME
Ah... remote igniter. Only in California. Check your base timing and then pull the vacuum advance hose off. See what happens. What is supposed to happen? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well if the timing drops back in the retarded direction then vacuum is leaking into the advance and screwing it up. There should be no vacuum advance at idle. Perhaps the idle is set too high. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
So I Switched To Reluctor Style EI Dizzy is or was the dizzy pointeing directly at #1 plg wire when installed? and timming plate close to the center. Not cranked to one side? carb cable set correctly using a extra soft return spring? not jamming up. float set ok. Im only guessing now Quote Link to comment
