steering wheel horn button removal?

Recommended Posts

So, we found a '74 Datsun 260z in the local self-pull junk yard. It has a factory steering wheel my roommate wants for his '78 Datsun 200sx! (his has a Grant GT aftermarket wheel now)

I tried pulling the horn button in the yard so I could unbolt and remove steering wheel.. but I can't seem to get the whole center horn button section to remove (I don't want to pull hard and break it)

How does the clip system work, how to remove?

Is a steering wheel puller going to be required after center bolt removed?

Should use same splines, should bolt on 200sx right?

Yeah I got the horn button and the horn off, thanks guys.

Unfortunately, the '74 260z uses a steering wheel with bigger shaft/splines than the '78 200sx, bummer that it won't work. I guess if you tried swapping an entire steering column from the 260z, but I bet that's not easily possible.
