Fast720
I had to save this little gem from the crusher, it's an 89 Z24 with the weird fuel injection, 5 speed. Plans are just to clean it up and splash of white paint, maybe som 18 inch Titans ( of course ) lower it a bit , it has to be zero zero budget , it's bad enough it's taking time and resourse's from blue thunder. Passenger door and rocker are bashed in and the box is rough, head board needs to be fixed . so this is what's happened so far Quote Link to comment
Dirttrack510
Nice save, get it road worthy and use it as a parts chaser. :) Quote Link to comment
Fast720
Yes she runs great , new brakes and head gasket, timing chain, oil pump, new CD player, has about 300 km's. Quick fibreglass job on the box inner fenders, turned out decent. trying to find some time to do the body work and splash some new paint on. Quote Link to comment
Fast720
A few more shots of the progress , going to spray it next Saturday, got my buddy coming by to check it out , he is a professional custom Yacht painter, I am not trying to make this thing perfect .......just white. But I want to learn so Blue Thunder turns out awsome. Quote Link to comment

Fast720
Hi ..................ah that door was totally hatched, I had to put a used one on, it's allmost ready, still have to gravel guard the inside of the box and some more frigin sanding !!!!!! How can a little truck make so much dust !!!!! Quote Link to comment
Rocket Dog
I've never seen fiberglass used this way, how does it compare to welding, new metal, etc? Quote Link to comment
Fast720
Hi Rocket Dog Well fibreglass is the easy and fast way to fix this type of problem, of course welding in new metal would be way better in the long haul, but on this box it would be a huge job, be cheaper to find a better box. I am just trying to clean this truck up for as little as possible, give it a new lease on life , light duty use the fibreglass will last a couple of years ish. it took a couple of hours to do , welding would have been days. ArchetypeDatsun
I had one of these older one regular cab used it for work had really bad wiring that someone messed up, almost 300,000 miles, and primer paint job but it was torquey little truck. I ended up rolling it after going a little to fast into a turn and came out walking with the roof caved in, it still started right up man I miss that little truck. Quote Link to comment
Fast720
Looking good if I don't say so myself , just got back from the auto wreckers with a decent front bumper, the original was chrome and not very happy. I switched the grill for a 91 but the corner lights are different so looking for the right ones or we modify something to make the old ones fit nice. I picked up a black one from a Pathgrinder, so I will have to repaint it and the one for the back. Man this truck is sooooooooo good on gas !!!!!! got to love it !!!!. Quote Link to comment
