datsunfreak
Is there a bump stop above the nose of the diff? 1 Quote Link to comment
Rhapakatui
I don't know. But, if there is, you can slap me in the forehead at Nismo Fiesta. I've already settled in for the night, but I'm tempted to get dressed and go look. 1 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I don't know.... tempted to get dressed and go look. They are very common in Japanese cars of the era, and specifically leaf-sprung Datsuns. Quote Link to comment
Rhapakatui
Is there a bump stop above the nose of the diff? Why, yes. As a matter of fact there is. It's a bit deformed from the dif being pressed hard up against it. But, it is definitely there. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
It's a bit deformed from the dif being pressed hard up against it...     In case it isn't obvious, cut that down and your blocks should give you the advertised drop. 2 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
And if that doesn't work, be thinking along these lines... B) (lifted from Just Joel's build thread) 1 Quote Link to comment
Rhapakatui
Already been collecting the pieces. You know I'm not afraid of a torch and a welding machine. 2 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I'm not afraid of a torch and a welding machine. Starting to think that should be mod #1 for any wagon... Quote Link to comment
Rhapakatui
Got the bump stop out. The driveshaft just barely rubs. About to take a metabo to the tunnel and solve that. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Did it drop the whole 2.5" this time? Quote Link to comment
Rhapakatui
Yes. I had to cut out more than I originally planned to keep from rubbing in bumps. I should've thought about the fact that it is my only way home. Trying to build something decent looking now to replace the tunnel. The problem with working at an industrial shop though is that everything is really heavy. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
And the problem with that post is lack of oics. B) 1 Quote Link to comment
Rhapakatui
External. The current internal status is reserved for the fabrication fail thread. I got home at 3:30am with a dead phone. Had to wear earplugs and run flashers on the way home. DO NOT CUT UP YOUR RIDE HOME!!! 1 Quote Link to comment

Rhapakatui
Not actually mine. There should be a build thread up soon. Quote Link to comment
