chester
I'm having the same problem. so what you did was switched the wires at the t plug and you don't have a draw. I did the same thing you did, with ka alt and now my charge light doesnt come on and I have a draw Quote Link to comment
q-tip
I switched the wires and there was no draw but I don't think that is the fix, I didn't have time to go into it further. Good to know I'm not the only one Quote Link to comment
chester
I did mine Thursday and then bought a battery Saturday morning and it was dead Sunday afternoon. If anything helps I'm going to try it. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
OK on my KA24E (S13) alt swap I wired it this way... This is the marking on my alternator. It shows the left side as S and the right as L terminals So on my plug it's S to the left side and L to the right.... This is the old original T plug into the old unregulated alternator. The top (White/Red) wire is the L terminal that goes to the charge light. The bottom (Yellow) wire is the S terminal... So, the left terminal below... Goes to the bottom horizontal (YELLOW)wire below. The other wire is the other wire. With the choke heater disconnected it's worked properly like this for well over a year. Charge light comes on with key, goes out when started and come on if stalled.. Quote Link to comment
chester
that is what I did wrong that's for coming in and helping I feel like an idiot Quote Link to comment
q-tip
I got mine fixed just before mike posted, I feel like a moron for getting the wiring wrong and being adamant that it was right. The white wire from the ka alternator goes to the yellow wire on the T plug and the.yellow wire from the alternator goes to the white wire on the T plug. Quote Link to comment
