Pretty cool! I've been tempted a couple of times to buy one of that model/style, but already have more cars than time & energy. Is the tranny a 5-speed? The dogleg tranny I put in my '72 510 came out of a later year 510 at Pull n Save. I think the 5-speed was an option on 2-doors only, but I don't know if it a lot of them had it or it is more rare.

With only 60K miles, it seems to be a granny car. Kinda of a shame not to leave it stock and original, but it would obviously look way better lower, with wheels, and different bumpers.

Here are some mechanical updates:

New exhaust system...they did some custom bending to get it all to fit right.  Looks great and runs very quiet.

New oil pressure switch to stop some of the leaking oil......still drips a bit, but not like it was.

Cleaned the check valve to stop the backfiring

New Belts and Hoses all around

In your pictures your dome light is missing ,, do you need one if i see one in a junkyard over here?

I'm in Western Washington so these do pop up in junkyards once in a while.

I found one in Mexico, actually....but thanks.  What I would like is an arm rest for the driver's side door.  There is a foreign car junkyard here, but in the Midwest, most of these have rusted away years ago.  If you happen to see one.........you can definitely give me a shout!

Ok i'm always looking for a rear seat for my sons 79 wagon and i will definitely keep a eye open...

When i say ( i'm ) i have had other very generous and helpful Ratsuners (and their wives :fu:  ) checking junkyards in the very north of Washington and south of Portland when they are out and about..

That would be great!  Hopefully I will have a spare hour in the next couple of weeks to run out to our foreign car salvage yard here.  I will definitely "spread the word" if I find anything good :-)

I went to a local salvage yard and the owner told me I was out of luck.  She said I wouldn't find anything this old (as she motioned toward the Datsun) around here.  The best she could do was a couple of late 80's Zs.
