OK, how hard is it to remove the oxygen sensor?

They cleverly tucked the sensor into a corner where I can't get a purchase on it.  Anyone got some hints on the right tool for the job?

O2 sensor wrench won't get it? Not the 1/2 drive socket craps but the swivel wrench everyone rents out

You're referring to one of these puppies, not the crow's foot style that would be used with a ratchet?

Depends how rusted and fused it is together. Heat the motor up and soak it in pen oil prior then use the o2 wrench and a breaker bar.

Now that it's idling again (thanks datzenmike) I'll definitely heat it up and soak with Aerokroil.  Let it cool a bit and do it again.  Amazon has a bunch of Nissan 720 O2 sensors.  This one appears to be correct (?).  I don't know if our local stores will have one for such an old rig.

I gots one of these and it works perfect. Kroil is your best friend, but PB blaster is a next if you can't afford or find.

Lucked out and got a bite on it with a standard 7/8" box end wrench.  I only had a few degrees of freedom to move the wrench, so if it hadn't broke free relatively easily woulda been a different story.  Our local NAPA store had a Bosch replacement.  I had to cut the old wire off and crimp to the Bosch, but they included a piece of heat shrink tubing in the box.  That was thoughtful.

Breaking one free thats bad so easily is extremely lucky. Maybe the last person who replaced it was smart enough to use anti-seize.
