Although it does need some repairs and adjusting, so I will stay posted. I'm new to the site and I will need some help along the way. I Bought this from a kid my age for $2,500, came with new tires and rims with 4 spare mudders. Dual 12" Renegade subs with 900 watt amp and pioneer deck. 4x4 works great. This truck is my favorite vehicle so far and tend to keep it for awhile. Need help with a couple things... The truck runs on a high idle (3000) when starting up. Vacuum leak? Clutch needs to be adjusted, stalls out when shifting into neutral and stalls when the clutch is pushed in all the way. Many thanks, Toon. :thumbup: Quote Link to comment

bmacster Posted February 15, 2013 Report Share Posted February 15, 2013 Clutch master and/or slave. Check to make sure they aren't leaking. Mine was doing that until I replaced the slave cylinder. Mine has the high idle issue as well. I haven't traced it down yet. I believe there is a high idle adjustment screw some where on the carb. I would check the hoses as well while you are looking it over. Quote Link to comment

Sometimes helps to know the year when diagnosing a problem. Just bought my first Nissan and I got to say that I love it! Need help with a couple things... The truck runs on a high idle (3000) when starting up. This is normal when starting a cold motor that has a carb. If all the time it could be... Choke stuck on... causes fast idle circuit to be on also. Throttle cable adjusted too tight... needs a little slack Secondary throttle plate stuck slightly open or stuck. Idle cut solenoid not working and PO turned the idle up. Clutch needs to be adjusted, stalls out when shifting into neutral and stalls when the clutch is pushed in all the way. Again helps to know what year. There is a neutral transmission and a clutch switch so maybe something there not right. Take a picture of the carb with the air filter off too. Quote Link to comment
Toon Posted March 13, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 13, 2013 SO my truck broke down about a week ago.. I found out the problem, I needed a battery and alternator. Changed parts for a Duralast Gold battery and a new Alternator Sam and I decided to rip out the interior for shorts.. So we can turn this... Into this.... Left over wires, a broken viper alarm system.... .Cleaned the floor, carpets, dash parts. will post finished pics later. Quote Link to comment
