Jason521
Quick question. I have my 71 521 pick up. Slave cylinder is bad. I have a 1980 l20b in it. Now do i get the 71 slave cylinder, or the 80 slave cylinder? Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
The transmission slave cylinder has nothing to do with the model of your engine unless more than the engine was swapped. If the transmission was also swapped, lord knows what slave cylinder you should buy. If possible pull the one you have and take it to the dealer. Quote Link to comment
DanielC
I prefer the original 521 slave cylinder. It has a return spring on the slave cylinder that holds the throwout bearing off the pressure plate when your foot is not on the clutch pedal, when adjusted properly. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
521s has the hose comming from the front so the hose will clear the torsion bar. saying L20 doesnt mean anything on this situation.Could have come from a Car a L20. you can view photos on Rockauto.com to see differences. trucks will usaully be the same. car were different. enter vehicle/year and x ref the parts buy the Jqpan made ones. Last 2 I got were from Beck Arnley made in Japan. But once stocks dry up most are Taiwan or Italian made ones(lucky to get 5 years out of them) Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
You want to use a truck one. 521 ones use the spring, 620/720 ones do not. Hydraulically they are identical. Both will work, but the old pushrod would have to be re-used if it's not the same length/type as what you have. Quote Link to comment
Jason521
Thats about what I got was 5 years. Sucks the one i want/need is the more expensive of them all. Quote Link to comment
