I really appreciate that. Being my first resto ever, and because I chose such an awesome little project, it's a little disheartening to hear people say I should get rid of it and find something else. I know it's a long road and that I'm going to have to resurrect this little guy from the grave. I'm willing to devote the time. If I don't do it, then it will be just another lost and forgotten 620, discarded and replaced. This truck is metaphorically my life. To me it's worth it. And even if it's biting off more than I can chew, it's worth a shot.

I want to be a part of the Ratsun community. I've followed posts here before becoming a forum member and seen the dedication and the pure love that you all have for these trucks. Don't give up on it, or me...we'll make it. And if any of you are brave (and patient) enough to continue to follow my journey, it's gonna be a wild ride.

If you have the skills and determination to bring this truck back I say go for it. Get that thing on the road and drivable for at leas the weekend drive on country roads, it'll help keep the motivation up if you can enjoy it as you improve it. Kinda reminds me of my truck, some people would give up and get something less rusty but for me it's worth the hard work cause it's gotten me through allot already

I have an advice question...or maybe just a knowledge question. After pulling the fenders off yesterday, the passenger side did not have a plastic fender well/guard behind it to stop spray into the fender itself. Any idea where one might procure said plastic shroud like piece? Anyone have one laying around I could buy?

Don't get disheartened. It looks like a good start to me. Over on the left coast you can't throw a dead cat without hitting a Datsun but down here there as hard to find as an honest politician. I will be following your thread. Good luck finding the plastic piece you're looking for. You might have better luck nailing jello to a tree.

Allot of people prefer not to use the plastic pieces cause they trap road grime behind them and cause fenders to rust out sooner. Without them you can clean all that out easily

So there is no love lost if they're not on the truck then? We are doing the full cab-off resto so if it was back primed and sealed properly I should be fine without the guards?

So I got my new front valence and tail-light panels delivered today. The valence looks incredible but the tail-light panels are a little suspect. I ordered them online (absolutely damn near impossible to find). The one panel has a wrinkled shitty spot on it but I'm gonna see what I can work out... The other one is really smooth and clean.

Well for anyone still with me, I have some exciting news...exciting as hell. After randomly "Google"-ing part numbers for my truck, I found a real surprise! I found a company, National Parts Depot in Charlotte, NC and the just listed some 620 parts on their site. I drove down there, traffic sucked ass, and out of the depths of their warehouse, I bought a brand new set of fenders...BOTH SIDES! The sales guy told me that they were in the warehouse when they bought the place 10 years ago. They were on a shelf in the back, all dusty and forgotten. They had to move a bunch of pallets to get them out but I got them. Original boxes from 20+ years ago. The best part... $29.03 a piece. Jackpot. Behold...

Does he have any more?  Curious how they will fit.

Sorry buddy, these were the only ones. I feel like the only ones on the right half of the country probably. They just happened to have them stuffed in a corner. I'll do a dry fit this weekend but I've gotta get the cab of so I won't bolt it all the way up. I'll try to remember to take a shot of it and post here for ya. My drivers side wasn't ALL that bad but the passenger had a pinch in the front so I'm hoping that these fit nicely...

They will probably be very acceptable.  Not having salvage yards full of Datsuns around here is a two-edge sword.  Hard to find parts but increases the rarity of our trucks.  Not that anyone's ever bought my lunch because I had a rare truck.

New fenders r sexy ! You got lucky buddy! So what are your plans for that engine bay? R you putting the L series back in o what??

Thank you Thank you... For the short term, yes the good old L20B goes back in it. Some sprucing up and freshness will get me where I want to go for now. I absolutely do plan on a full drive train swap down the road but I'll have to save up some scratch first. My little beat-around is in great shape so i should get some good use out of it. I will need plenty of stellar advice/tips/tricks for the engine swap though.
