irishevox
Will a 1980 nissan 720 dash board with gauges fit in a 1980 datusun 720 with gauges... is it a direct replacement? would it fit? will the wire harness work the same or do i need to run a new harness. i like the dash and gauges on the nissan over the datusn Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
A 1980 720 is a Datsun by Nissan. They are the same. It was not until 1984 that the Datsun nameplate was dropped. 720 changed from square gauges to round gauges for the 1983 model year. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Here's my later 720 gauges... Earlier gauges... I think they will swap but the wiring is different. I used an '85 4x4 dash but earlier wiring harness. One plug was the same... probably the ignition, headlights and wiper but the gauges were totally mixed. Left turn signal and the charge light would flash, stuff like that. All I did was push the pin out for the left signal and move it to the correct position to mate to the correct dash wire for the left signal. I got everything working but the high beams. irishevox
right but the nissan doesn't have the big hump... while the datsun does, i know they are extremely similar trucks with minor differences Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
no the second pic posted is that i have and it's a 720... wish it was a 620 :( The last 620 was '79 and had this dash... . The first 720 was '80 and had this dash until Sept. '82 with square gauges... Starting October '82 the round gauges were used. Nissan motors made all Datsuns. The Datsun name was used in North America on all Nissan vehicles until '82 when it was phased out over several years becoming, simply Nissan.... which is what they were all along anyway.
