Ladies and Gents

 

Since I'm doing a trans swap in my brother truck in the near future we decided since everything is apart that we might as well get a new clutch of it. Does anyone have suggestions on brands? Duralast ones are $99 but I'm not sure how reliable and long lasting they are. I've personally never bought a clutch before (or done one either) so any suggestions would be great.

Go to Napa, and buy it for near the same price. You get Exedy which is 10xxxx better then the cheap Valeo that Autozone sells.

 

This is my warped Autozone clutch after less then 1 year. Can you see where friction material never touched the flywheel? Piece of crap. Took this one out about a week ago.

Ya gits what ya pay fer. If this bolted to the head no problem, but it isn't, and the transmission or motor (or both) must come out to get at it so that must be worth 6 hrs work in 6 months time right there. So what are you saving on a $90 POS?

 

225mm 30210-P0100 (or Y0100) pressure plate 550KG clamping force........... about $130

225mm 30100-Y6800 friction disc ..................................................................... about $50

 

About $200 and peace of mind.

If you have it apart, no need to guess. You can measure the thickness, it might be excellent. But also check the radial spring tightness, those tend to go first, especially with cheap 4-spring discs.

key is make sure the flywheel is good
