bass
i bought a 1972 620 with an sr20 turbo and 5 speed swap, it was lowered when i bought it, i took the blocks off the rear and turned torsion arms all the way to lift the truck so i could put mud tires on it, sort of a prerunner, the truck is about an inch lower on the passenger side, both front and rear tires are an inch+ closer to the fenders and the truck has an obvious lean, i changed the rear leaf springs and put on new rear shocks, with no change in lean. it didnt look like it was leaning when it was lowered, any ideas? bent frame? datzenmike
Shocks do not have any affect on ride height. Turn the driver's side torsion bar down to match the right side. Once the front is level take a look at the rear. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Check for rusted body mounts or maybe missing the rubber bushings although the cab would end up lower than the bed. Then do what Mike said. Did it sit level when it was lowered? Quote Link to comment
bass
i didnt notice it had a lean when it was lowered. so its typical for the 620s to lean? u just have to adjust for it? Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
Mine is lower on the drivers side too... But just in the back. Thought it was my leaf. I'll be watching to see how this goes Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
It's not typical but it can happen when adjusting the torsion bars, should just need some more adjustment. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Think about it... If you jack the driver's front corner up to change a tire the passenger rear goes down, slightly. I think the front drivers T bar has simply been turned up too much. If there is adjustment left on the pass side turn it up OR just lower the driver's side to match. Quote Link to comment
bass
i udjusted torsion, got the front pretty level, the back is more level, the driver side torsion screw is about an inch + more thread than the other side, would reindexing torsion give more front lift? truck is still too raked, is it ok to take out the bottom flat leaf spring to lose a little rear height? ]2eDeYe
Reindexing will get you more lift, keep in mind that you camber and toe are gonna be all out of whack once you get the ride height set how you want it. Make sure to get it aligned. It is ok to take the overload out. Quote Link to comment
