fo0manchu
So here is an alternative to the more expensive setups. 280zx struts, 300zx disks and hub, 2nd gen rx7 4 piston calipers. Here is my mock setup with test brackets. This utilizes 11.1" rotors and the aluminum 4 piston calipers. Best part is I can still use 15" wheels. Although not all 15's will fit, ones where the barrels angle in will need spacers or grinding down the caliper slightly. I'm sure these calipers might work with other setups ant 11" rotors as well. Laecaon
What hub is that? 280zx isn't 5 lug... Quote Link to comment
fo0manchu
typo... z31 300zx rotors and hub... edited now. Quote Link to comment
freekwonder
What did you do to get the Z31 hub on. I thought you had to machine something? Any details on the adapters? Measurements, or make some more? Quote Link to comment
fo0manchu
hubs just slide on. Adapters are not finished yet, this was just a mock setup to see if everything fit correctly Quote Link to comment

fo0manchu
yah, I remember reading about that awhile ago. By eye they look okay and looks like everything will seal fine. Its not a hard part to replace, so we'll see how long they last. Quote Link to comment
moath
How thick is your bracket? I love this idea, thanks for posting it! Quote Link to comment
fo0manchu
the mock up bracket is only 1/8", but only a tester to see how far i had to space it out from the original mounts. Quote Link to comment
freekwonder
Ah ok, that's not terrible. Love the idea of the bracket. Let us know how it goes. Quote Link to comment

Now that I think about it, when I compared them it was the '84 4-lug 300zx hubs, not the 5-lug, so they may be different. Quote Link to comment
moath
Also, could you weigh the calipers? I'm curious how their weight compares to options like the Wilwoods. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
rayven14
Not bad at all! and you end up with a 5 lug conversion to boot? nice. Quote Link to comment
