ggzilla
First, replace the bad float. Then get back to us and report if the gas fume smells have disappeared. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Where does it spill out???? Is the tank leaking?? I've had a venting problem before and the suction from the pump collapsed the tank and it would only hold a few gallons.... worse it read half full!!!. Check and see if the tank has collapsed. 81sunnyson
the manual says stalling upon cold start is float fume front the front and the back....oh the irony Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
There is more than one cause for stalling right after cold start You can test the float by looking in the glass sight window on the carburetor. If the fuel level is centered, the float is correct. If not, adjust the float. A bad float will cause overflowing gas into the carburetor. Quote Link to comment
81sunnyson
there is gas inside the air cleaner, well on the underside of the lid it will surge real bad some days like the throttle is stuck... i tried to move the anti dieseling solenoid wires away from the manifold and that helped a little the fusesible link looks black Quote Link to comment
