Rear Coilover advice

So I've decided to build my own rear coilovers for my 510 (4 door) as opposed to purchasing a unit from TTT, Ermish, etc.

 

So far I know that a popular strut is the KYB AGX 743019 from a 82-02 Camaro.

 

My question is, does anyone know the OD of that shock? Also, in regards to spring and coil/sleeve options, what length springs are appropriate as well as the for the coilover sleeve? I've seen folks go with 7"-8" length springs, not sure on the sleeves though.

 

Any thoughts? Also I plan to run 300 lbs springs.

i was planning to build qa1 rear coilover appose from buying troy ermishs. should cost me around $450-520 to build. i think.lol

Can anyone with KYB AGX 743019 chime in and give a fellow Ratsuner some dimensions/specs? I've tried getting to the KYB site, and searching, and no one seems to make mention.

I went a different direction with my rear coilovers, but 300# is race car stiff in a 510! In my 510 race car I run 300# fronts and 250# rears, and couldn't imagine them in a street car... Most people run coilovers in the 200# range on street cars.

Actually, a couple of cars down here where running 500 lb. springs! A little stiff, but not too bad. At least no squat when they launched!!

 

I am also going to be running 300lbs. springs in mine.

Wow, 500#? I was told I was "Being insane" when I mentioned getting 300# for my 280Z... I think the stiffer the better provided the car is ridgid enough to not fall apart.. which mine is.
