hobbes_the_cat
So have a parasitic draw on my 72 510 wagon. I used a test light and traced the short to the 20a horn circuit, but I don't know what this circuit powers besides the horn. Chilton and Haynes were no help. Any one have a list of what this circuit powers so I can trace the short? Quote Link to comment
izzo
Shoot, I have PDFs of all the wiring diagrams from Mitchel but they are at my house, with no internets :( Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
No problem man, Its not my daily so I'm not in a huge rush. ;) Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Looks like it only powers the stop lights at the back... are they on??? Does your horn work right now??? Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
The horn doesn't work. There was a bad leak by the tail lights so I will check there first. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Got a multimeter? This guy has a very helpful channel. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The reason the horn does not work is because it is on all the time. The previous owner just pulled the wires off the horn to quiet them... however the relay is still ON!!! and drawing a small amount of power. The horn button is possibly stuck thus keeping the relay ON. Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
good one Mike. on the horn alwas on. Yes on 510s the horn relay powers the brake lights also. 3 dollar test light will work Quote Link to comment
hobbes_the_cat
Finally got around to fixing this. Mike was right, horn was stuck on. The actual horns are missing so i just unplugged the relay and no more draw! Quote Link to comment
