All sloppy shifters feel like there's a 5th gear but there isn't. Usually. 1200s didn't come with 5 speeds but one could have been swapped in. There are three possible 5 speeds that fit the A series. Two are dogleg shift pattern so is reverse above first or not?

Like this?

R-2-4

1-3-5

If not do you have...

1-3-?

2-4-R

Need a picture of the transmission... http://community.ratsun.net/topic/691-how-to-post-pictures-and-keep-online-photo-albums/

Is it in the car or not?

I NEVER f/b. So you'll just have to learn a new skill set.

I got a Potobucket account and got it on the first try, and hey, I'm no whiz at computers. If you are going to be here asking questions you are going to need to post pictures.

Rear facing oil drain bung and all small case bolts/ no long ones ... looks like an F4W56 four speed. The FS5W56 drained straight down and had some long bolts holding the case halves together.

The 60 series (A and L) had a smooth case without 'waffling'.

Definitely not a 63A dogleg 5 speed
