Rebuilding my 85 kc

so about a month ago i spun my #4 rod bearing so i was just going to rebuild my motor. then i decided to completly remake the whole truck. inside and out.

starting by teaaring the engine out of there.

got the block back after i honed and resurfaced it

new crank with the new bearings, rebuilt rod and the old pistons

painted the block with high temp paint. it looks grey but its really black

new head, new pistons, new gasket kit, new oil pump, new timing kit, new everything. my weber 32/36 and header will be here shortly

Did you measure the cylinder wear and taper first? The block could be worn past what stock size pistons and rings can seal. I see a ridge ring at the top of the piston ring travel...

BTW the wood grain on the dash isn't cheesy.

I have one if you are still in need of this gear. I totally bunged up a Z24 crank a couple months ago and when I got another crank it had all the gears etc on it. Not really sure why I left this laying around but I went and found it after I read your thread.

 

You should be honored. I dug through this mess to find this thing for you. :)
