datzenmike
Did you measure the cylinder wear and taper first? The block could be worn past what stock size pistons and rings can seal. I see a ridge ring at the top of the piston ring travel... BTW the wood grain on the dash isn't cheesy. Quote Link to comment
nissanprerunnerdavid
I did and the are within the stock range and the ring wear just looks bad. It is almost nothing it looks alot worse than it is. And I really like the wood too!!!! Haaha. Quote Link to comment
nissanprerunnerdavid
Does anybody know where to get a oil pump drive gear?? I've been looking for hours now with no luck. Thanks in advance for the help. Quote Link to comment
Skulptr
Oil pump drive gear? The one driven by the timing chain? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It's also known as the oil pump spindle and it's driven by a worm gear directly from a the crankshaft and just in front of the timing chain sprocket. Quote Link to comment
nissanprerunnerdavid
Yeah that's right!! I just can find any of them on line? Any help? Quote Link to comment
Skulptr
Do you currently have one? Quote Link to comment

nissanprerunnerdavid
It was broken. One of the splines was chipped and i need to get a new one to continue on my engine. And I don't have one currently. Quote Link to comment
nissanprerunnerdavid
And I have had no luck on finding one anywhere. Quote Link to comment
Sealik
And I have had no luck on finding one anywhere. The L and Z oil pump drive/skew gear are the same... Someone has one..... Post in the Wanted 'Ads' I have some....but.... cheaper to get it 'locally' Quote Link to comment
nissanprerunnerdavid
Is the only place to get one a junkyard?? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yes. Nissan may still have one about $40. All Z20/22/24 spindles are the same. Likely the L20B spindle will fit but it does have a different part number. Quote Link to comment
nissanprerunnerdavid
So should I just call a Nissan dealer?? Quote Link to comment
nissanprerunnerdavid
And i did throw a post in the wanted add. Quote Link to comment
nissanprerunnerdavid
Will the l series work for sure? Quote Link to comment
Sealik
Will the l series work for sure? I've ran the longer Z24 oil pump spindle with the Z24 dizzy in the L block.....so yes...the 'skew gears' are the same Quote Link to comment
nissanprerunnerdavid
Sweet thank you. Finding one is soooo hard no wrecking yards or dealers sell them I still can't find an y... Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I have one if you are still in need of this gear. I totally bunged up a Z24 crank a couple months ago and when I got another crank it had all the gears etc on it. Not really sure why I left this laying around but I went and found it after I read your thread. You should be honored. I dug through this mess to find this thing for you. :) Here's a couple of pics of it just to be sure. And here is what's left of that stupid crank I messed up, which freed this gear up for you. Oh yeah, officially crank lamped. Anywho, pm me if you still need this thing. It's yours for the cost of shipping. Let my catastrophe be of aid to someone at least. Quote Link to comment
