Z-train
I don't need to pull it out at this rate.......... Intermittant failure of temp & fuel guage.Based on observations,i thought it was the reg in the temp guage. But magically, they started working and then the temp guage failed as the fuel guage kept working. Thoughts? Quote Link to comment
Ratty260z
what vehicle? what year? sounds like a fuse box issue to me. Quote Link to comment

'70 521 L16
what have you tried? replacing fuses even if they look good? cleaning connections? if it works sometimes but not all the time it's probably a bad connection somewhere...the question is where. find a diagram and trace the flow back from the battery. fisch
Certainly a bad regulator on the back of a 521 dash causes exactly this. Not sure about a 620. So I think you are on the right track. Quote Link to comment
Z-train
Fuses are clean.I guess i might as well just drop the dash. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If one gauge is working it can't be the fuse. (could be a bad sender or loose wire). Both not working could be fuse or the regulator. I think the 620 regulator just plugs to the back of the gauge cluster and may just need unplug/plug in to clean the contacts. Ground the Yellow/White sender wire on the front of the thermostat housing the gauge should read full hot if everything working. Be sure wire is firmly on and not corroded from spray. The tank will have a black ground wire and another (I forget the color) make sure the black one goes to ground. Grounding the other wire fill give a full tank reading. Be sure wires are firmly on and not corroded from spray. Quote Link to comment
