Busta Nut
Quick spin at lunch....... I must say that the added caster from mounting the top hats at angle helps a lot with the tracking over bumps......much nicer on the freeway and bumpy roads.... Brakes feel great also......stops so fast and a solid pedal......huge difference.... The ride feels pretty cozy right now.....not too stiff and hasn't bottomed out yet......the Koni's feel nice at this setting..... I think I'll try lowering it another 1/4" and see if all goes well..... If it does....I'll leave it for a couple weeks and get used to the feel before switching to the 250lb spring I also wanna get my sway bar in.....that'll make a difference also..... If anyone has suggestions on aftermarket sway bars they have used....please put your input below...... Thx for followin' 1 Quote Link to comment

Busta Nut
260 sticky? whatcho talkin' bout willis? Sticky for me......ok.......not everyone got to spend 18 years on the track messing around with race equipment..... ........not mad.....................just hella jelly :P My dream was to get to a track to work when I was young......but my Dad was a Middle Eastern......that should say enough....... how much caster are you running? I haven't put it on the alignment rack yet.....but I'm gonna guess around 3*-4* Having issue after issue.....hopefully I'll get it on this Thursday...... Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
Yesterday I pulled it in to measure on an even surface and realized something............. ...........the rack still fits under my car..........that only means one thing........... It's not low enough.......... Dropped it another 1/4" and headed up to Costco.........forgot to snap a pic at the shop but I got this one of both my ladies........ The ride up was great......no rubbing or bottoming out.....handles well through turns....... 1 Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
On the way back the rear started to bottom out a lot and exhaust started scraping on heavily crowned roads......got it back to the shop to find this..... Left rear shock leaks somewhere causing both to sag.....you can hear it hissssssssssss.................. ......................that's as low as she goes......didn't feel like checkin' it out since I won't be able to drive her till next week anyways...... :hmm: Thursday I'll rack her and check out what's going on with the shock..... mttam510
That's prolly not a damper issue as they don't hold up the car. That's all spring or something spring related. Quote Link to comment

I just thought it was funny. I think stickier...when you are talking about RA1's or Hoosier 's or some other DOT race rubber. Plenty of good take off race rubber at Sears Point, perfect for a summer in the north bay....for Tam jams and such. You just have to be there at the right time... you will get through the bugs, just keep at it. You are paying attention to the little things and thats what matters. But seriously, weld them struts....here's a shot of what i did.
I turned some steel collars to fit the OD of the housing and the max OD of the collar supports the bottom of the aluminum collar as well as registers on the internal counerbore. it give a nice clean look. I ran a 175lb spring up front for a long time, it's a good rate for the street. When budget allows, i would recommend getting a small DEKA battery and re-locating to the trunk, even if you don't relocate, you take a bunch of weight off of that RH corner. Quote Link to comment

I believe he has air shocks in the back, which would have been artificially lifting it a bit. ;) And yeah, needs taller springs in my opinion. But that's me. ^_^ Quote Link to comment
tr8er
It looks pimp! The problem was scraping exhaust. Sounds like you need to reroute an exhaust to earn clearance. Bottoming out does get old fast though. I talk big, but I'd not go that low. Too many bumps in the world, and it's too painful to think about that beautiful car getting beat up every time it drives. 1 Quote Link to comment
mttam510
IIRC I thought I remember Bilstein Sport rear dampers? I did not see anything about air shocks....perhaps i missed. Quote Link to comment

Yes.....the shocks aren't supposed to hold the vehicle up.......but mine have been held up by these shocks since I got it...... I cut more out of the spring which I probably should not have done......but fuck it......moar lowar!!! I'll figure something out...........I always do.... Not trying to give you a hard time either. You can give me as hard a time as you like......I'm one who can take it.....I like bustin' balls myself..... B) Yes....I know....I WILL weld the perch.....but when I'm ready...... Battery relocation is on the TO DO list......but does not take priority over drivability......... skyblue
That's some good diagnosing! 1 Quote Link to comment
mttam510
You can add a spring pad at the top of the spring, just get a poly spring pad (energy suspension) from Summit and install....RH raised. I have urethane pads on my rear springs. Why go the C/O route? Then you need to re-enforce the shock towers as they are not intended to take spring load. What springs do you have in there, chopped OE? 1 Quote Link to comment
Busta Nut
That's some good diagnosing! I sense a sarcasm in your text...... .........not that hard to figure out You can add a spring pad at the top of the spring, just get a poly spring pad (energy suspension) from Summit and install....RH raised. I have urethane pads on my rear springs. Why go the C/O route? Then you need to re-enforce the shock towers as they are not intended to take spring load. What springs do you have in there, chopped OE? I will look into the pads....you have a P/N by chance?? Yes.....they look like chopped OE........ Quote Link to comment
