What year was the change from red turn signals to amber on the sedan tail lights?

My 71, the 2 72's, and the 69 I pulled parts from all had red. So I'm guessing it was just 73. Im sure someone else knows but I thought I'd share this in the meantime.

MVSS 108 (1968) allowed amber rear turn signals. But few manufacturers chose them at first. Even now red is still common, like the 2005 Nissan Altima has red.

 

Looks like B210 had only one set of lenses for all Sedans.

I picked up a set of ambers yesterday because all I had ever seen were the solid reds until now.

I could be mistaken, wouldn't be the first time. I'll see if I can dig some pics up.

they look all red, cause the T/S are orange and not as yellowish like many others. I never even realized it until tdaaj mentioned it.
