Rear leaf spring suspension

Recommended Posts

I am wondering if anyone out there has replaced their rear spring bushings on a 1974 710 wagon, and where did you find them if so? I'm having a really hard time finding bushings that fit. I am thinking that i'll have to just replace the entire rear leaf springs just for this problem. If I do decide to replace them any suggestions? I would like to keep it as close to original as possible. (i'm not looking to lower it) Thanks

I got a p/m and may have missread about the bushings. The 710 leaf spring has rubber wrapped around them where the U bolts clamp it to the axle. Probably to absorb road vibration transmitted through the old style nylon cord tires. Todays radials are much softer.

I now see he may have meant the ends of the springs.

Maybe you can cross reference the number to something else...

The fronts are 55047-22900

The lower rears are 55045-A6900 but I doubt the dealer will have them.

The same ones are used in the '78-'81 A10 (HL510)
