Laecaon
1521 is the size for all L series. Another choice is the 1515. Technically a ford filter, but it is longer (probably what was on your motor). Guy at my local store when I said I was using it on a Datsun said "thats funny, all the toyota kids use them for a larger filter choice". Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I've used the Ford filter. Bigger and half the price. Win win. I think the 318 filter will fit as well. Quote Link to comment
scapooch
Thank you, those were as my thoughts as well. Learning something new everyday, didn't know about the ford filter, perhaps that may be something to consider for my truck. Thanks guys for the input. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
When I buy a NAPA filter it's always the 1515 (or derivative, 21515 etc). Quote Link to comment
Zeusimo
What Car Is The Ford Filter From? I'd Like To Try It.. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Just use the filter number. Proselect is 21515 Gold is 1515, I would assume silver is 31515, Wix part number is 51515. My parts guy said Ford used it on just about everything from the 70s to the 90s. Actually, I found a car that pulls it up with only one option, and you wont look odd at the counter ordering it for your Datsun. Napa's site shows a 84 Toyota Cressida using it. But note, Wix shows the filter being used on almost everything. http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/PartApplications.asp?Part=51515 Quote Link to comment
